Additional information

Even though International induction machine testing standards (e.g. IEEE and IEC) exist, there is a lack of consistency causing loss in productivity and human errors in interpretation, especially for highly-efficient machines. This article, through theoretical evaluation and experimental testing, creates for the first time a methodology to unify the measurement and evaluation of component losses (including challenging stray load loss) leading to machine efficiency. The work was in collaboration with AEMT (http://www.aemt.co.uk/, Prof. D. Walters dgwalters@talktalk.net ), EASA (USA) machine manufacture organisations, who provided medium sized induction machines for evaluation and provide guidance to the industry.
