Comparative accuracy of radiostereometric and optical tracking systems.
This was the first study to quantify the accuracy of radiostereometric analysis (RSA) against a gold standard measure and compare it to another commonly used biomechanical tool: optical motion analysis. It was presented during an invited lecture at the 4th International Workshop on Imaging Based Measures of Osteoarthritis, Vancouver, 2010. It validated the use of RSA at the Wolf Orthopaedic Quantitative Imaging Laboratory in London, Canada, which was subsequently awarded a grant for $13M (CAD) from the CFI Leading Edge Fund (#30946). Kedgley’s proposal based on this work was awarded a 2-year £50k fellowship from the NSERC of Canada (PDF-372959-2009).
