Additional information

We implement a number of numerical advancements for dense sprays realised in the vicinity of diesel injector nozzles; that has provided localised enhanced grid resolution, and thus accuracy, in areas of steep flow gradients without compromising in computational time. This has been particularly important for the simulation of atomisation that is the most important flow process during the development of diesel sprays. The methodology has been also successfully extended to cavitating flows in fuel injectors; it is now a standard tool of the GFS CFD flow solver used by Caterpillar (contact WANG_LIFENG@cat.com) in their R&D department.
