Additional information

Screw compressors are noisy machines. This publication analyses for the first time all relevant geometrical parameters which affect noise generation in screw compressors. It is demonstrated in the paper how the state of the art methods can be used to design a compressor by optimising these parameters to reduce noise and at the same time improve compressor performance. It provided basis for further research and development of new modelling tools which are nowadays used not only for noise suppression but also for broader applications in screw type machinery which helps achieving challenging legislation targets for pollution.
