Additional information
For the first time we demonstrated the critical importance of incorporating the Purkinje network in predicting patient-specific cardiac electrophysiology at an organ level. The analysis was carried out in the context of cardiac resynchronization therapy. The work cemented the collaboration with the group of Ed Vigmond in the University of Calgary. The proposed conclusions led to the realization that current literature suffers from the lack of adequate models of the peripheral cardiac conduction system (which we contributed subsequently to) and therefore many of the previous studies were misleading.
