Bournemouth University and Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust (DHC) have established the University Department of Mental Health (UDMH). Professor Sue Clarke holds a joint appointment working as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS Trust and as Director of the University Department of Mental Health. As a result, her research focus lies with the University. Her primary area of research examines the efficacy of therapeutic approaches to treatment-resistant conditions. In her practice as a clinical psychologist she acts as a national trainer of the psychotherapies that have been the focus of her research (Cognitive Analytic Therapy; Dialectic Behaviour Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
