Additional information

This paper shows the ability of a retrodirective array to compensate, in real time, the diterious effects of a rapidly changing multipath environment. Significant enhancements of BER occurred when transmitting data via the retrodirective array (compared to conventional array) regardless of whether line of sight is present or absent. This ability to rapidly adjust for dynamic multipath, whilst using relatively simple circuits is unique to the analogue retrodirective array, and could significantly enhance applications such as search and rescue in highly cluttered environments such as collapsed buildings.
