Additional information

Computer modelling is becoming increasingly popular as a method for examining skull function in living and extinct animals. However, this was the first time a model (developed using a combination of finite-element analysis and multi-body dynamics analysis) was used in an experimental way to test a discrete hypothesis - by manipulating a validated model.
