Additional information

This paper presents a demonstration of the accuracy and relative efficiency of the Parabolized Navier Stokes method to the prediction of hypersonic intake flows for Scramjet propulsion. Scramjet propulsion is highly sensitive to the quality of the infow air through the Scramjet intake. This paper is significant in that it is one of the first papers to prove that the Parabolized Navier Stokes method can provide very high resolution predictions of the highly complicated 3D compressible flows in intake ducts, with good accuracy, in a much more efficient way than the usual time marching Navier-Stokes method.
