Additional information

<29> This paper presents results from an Ordnance Survey (OS) funded PhD studentship. The work was well received by OS and led to them providing further funding for A. Lohfink to continue the work post-doc. An earlier version of the paper was presented at the 15th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in GIS (fully refereed, 29% acceptance rate). The main research contribution is a novel object-oriented versioning technique that enables the efficient representation of evolving spatial objects.
