Additional information

This describes novel development of a delivery system for treatment chemicals for surfaces for Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI’s) using a Spill-Return Atomiser (Patent: EP2114457B1). Various coating surfaces were tested using fine spray production (<20 microns) with rapid evaporation and no residue. The application of the system does not need the evacuation of patients from the hospital ward, unlike the conventional procedures. The work was highlighted in the International ICLASS conference; one reviewer commented “the originality of the work is evident throughout this pertinent work”. A prototype of the device was also built and utilized by the collaborative company HSS Ltd
