Subsequent to this research Dr Williams has been invited to be part of Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) initiatives on garment design and use forming part of an industry strategy SCAP2020 (http://www.wrap.org.uk/content/sustainable-clothing-action-plan-1) (contact: Programme Area Manager - Clothing at WRAP). The work on laundering is also being used by WRAP to promote more awareness to industry and the public of wash conditions and energy savings for clothing longevity. Other outcomes include an invitation to become Vice Chair of the Textile Institute Sustainability Special Interest Group (http://sustainabletextiles.org/).
