The reported development and integration of incremental, aggregated cost and sustainability models into simulation-based production optimisation methods provides multi-objective decision-making and post-optimality decision-analysis capability for identifying optimal investment alternatives. Implementation of the reported models within the Volvo Car group (contact: Senior Advisor at Volvo Car Corporation), yielded a 20% increase in throughput and over 25% reduction in annual running costs for relatively modest increases in investment of 7%.
