Integrated Compact Optical Vortex Beam Emitters
Optical interconnects, optical communications, quantum information and lab-on-chip are exciting areas of application that may benefit from robust scalable integration of photonic orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) optics. Paper demonstrates, for first time, that this is feasible. Work featured on Science cover, issue highlights and podcast of Science interview with Yu. Work received coverage worldwide (50,000 Google hits in 2 weeks).
