This article was one of the outputs related to funding for the AHRC ICT Programme awarded in 2007 (£15k). It sets out important changes in how the arts and sciences are being brought together through digital technology, requiring new ways for all disciplines to think about creativity, application and training. It seeks to explain why the ‘e-‘ prefix came to be ubiquitous in framing practical outputs, and what that means for thinking about technology in artistic and scientific contexts in the development of an ‘e-culture’. It was reprinted in the Malaysian Art Gallery Guide (Jan/Feb 2011).
