Additional information

This work demonstrated, for the first time, sound-driven power generation using nanogenerators based on piezoelectric nanomaterials. Sound generated power can be applied in various novel applications such as mobile phones that can be charged during conversations, or sound-insulating walls near highways and/or tube stations that generate electricity from the sound of passing vehicles. This work was reported in “Discovery News” and “Nanowerk”. A patent has been applied for (US20110204317A1).
