Capacity and power allocation for spectrum-sharing communications in fading channels
<04> Cognitive radio networks are a frontier technology to tackle the ever-increasing problem of spectrum scarcity, and this paper presents one of the first works to derive the ergodic and outage capacities of such networks. It contributes fundamental studies of the capacity bounds and derives power allocation techniques to approach these bounds. This provides invaluable insight for future network design and understanding of cognitive radio network performance. The significance of this work and its impact on the field is reflected in the paper's very high citation rate. Published in IEEE TWC, a leading journal in the field (IF 2.586).
