The work carried out leading to this publication set up a methodology to study different cell compartments in live lung cells using Raman spectroscopy. It also led towards a stronger research collaboration between the University of Keele and the University of Reims, France. This research collaboration has led to 5 successful joint applications to the French Facility Soleil synchrotron to carry out further work on vibrational spectroscopy. Dr Sulé-Suso is also Member of the Peer Review Committee 5 «Biology-Health» of Soleil Synchrotron, and was Expert Member of the Review Panel for the SMIS beamline, Soleil Synchrotron (October, 2012).
