This study was part of research into 5,000 hip resurfacings of the BHR design. Two PhD students and many presentations at international meetings ensued. It led to direct support of a successful FDA applicaton (P040033) and in due course 100,000 patients worldwide have benefitted from this implant which has a high success rate in young active men. Data from this publication was included in an invited lecture at the 1st UK-Israel Regenerative Medicine Conference, 2011.
