Additional information

This paper demonstrates research into the extremely difficult problem of the detection and extraction of the minute electrophysiological signal (nanovolts) that appears on a pregnant mothers’ abdomen. These signals being: the fetal ECG; maternal ECG; and contraction signal (EHG). This international paper (with German collaborators) demonstrates via a 2-way study that the technology is able to outperform (in terms of accuracy and reliability) other commercial devices (ultrasound) from companies such as Philips and GE. This work has now been spun out to form Monica Healthcare who are selling devices throughout the world.
