Additional information

<05> Traffic self-similarity is an important ubiquitous phenomenon in multimedia communications and has attracted tremendous research efforts from both academia and industry. However, due to the high complexity of fractal-like self-similar traffic, existing studies have been restricted to simplified scenarios that focus on either traffic scheduling or congestion control only. The model developed in this paper is the first of its kind that addresses the challenging issue of analytical investigation of the integrated traffic congestion control and priority scheduling scheme in modern communication networks. The model can be used to investigate optimal network resource management and guarantee Quality-of-Service requirements.
