<02> This paper was the first to show that machine learning for microarchitecture design could be transferred across applications. I.e. that you can train on a set of programs and apply this to a new, unseen application. ARM have used this technique for mobile systems research (ARM contact available on request). The paper was published in IEEE Transactions on Computers, one of the premier journals in Computer Science. The conference version was published at MICRO with an acceptance rate of 21% (35/166).
