This work has established a repeatable approach to fatigue life estimation related to surface damage on gears, validated by experimental indications of material removal and characterisation. It was an output of research funded by the Pakistan Government. Other researchers have already started to use this method, e.g. Prof Shao at Changsha University of Science and Technology ymshao@cqu.edu.cn.
