Additional information

This study demonstrates a novel combination of Phase Sensitive-OCT technology with a simple and inexpensive mechanical impulse surface wave stimulation, that can be used to non-invasively evaluate the mechanical properties of skin in vivo. This technique may offer potential use in clinical situations, such as characterising the mechanical properties of skin tissues to aid in the early diagnosis and the treatment of skin diseases.
