Significance of output:

This most recent advance in a series of papers on optical manipulation of objects for the lab-on-chip describes the modelling and realization of an optical waveguide bidirectional conveyor belt which traps and drives biological cells to a stable location for chemical analysis. This cumulative research, together with work on biosensing and optofluidics, led to an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant on point-of-care diagnostics (ERC, €3,062,006,1/4/2012 – 31/3/2017,GA n°291216).
