Additional information

This is a novel numerical approach in modelling accurately fluid flow in complex geometries involving solid-fluid interfaces for varying Reynolds numbers. It has already been implemented in modelling the movement of vehicles within street canyons and thus the traffic-induced turbulence, which has significant implications on the accurate prediction of pollutant concentrations due to traffic emissions within the urban environment. This technique is now also being used in the modelling of fluid flow over solid interfaces in both the chemical and petroleum engineering industry, e.g. fluid flow in fluidised beds and porous formations.
