Additional information

This paper describes a novel preconditioning strategy for new membranes that could lead to improved industrial performance and, consequently, greater process efficiency. The paper resulted from industrial and international collaboration with Alfa Laval, Denmark (Frank Lipnizki, frank.lipnizki@alfalaval.com), Nordic Sugar, Denmark (John Jensen, john.p.jensen@nordicsugar.com), and involved an international co-author, Arto Pihlajamki, from the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland.
