Additional information

This paper came out of a major EU-funded project (BIOPATTERN, Contract no.:508803). It was the first paper to demonstrate how to analyse the bioprofile for personalised assessment of dementia over grid. The work involved collaboration with partners in Greece, Finland and Sweden. It has opened up a new research direction in ‘Bioprofile analysis’, which provides a complementary new way of interpreting biomedical data (see Journal of Alzheimer’s disease, Vol. 32, 2012, 1-7). The work also formed the basis for a theme in an NIHR Programme Grant (Clinical Trials Methodology in Neurodegenerative Diseases, Grant Reference Number: RP-PG-0707-10124).
