This is a jointly-authored publication containing six chapters. Bradby wrote Chapters One and Two. Finburgh and Bradby co-wrote Chapter Three. Finburgh wrote chapters Four, Five and Six.
Finburgh therefore co-wrote the chapter on ‘The Balcony’, ‘The Blacks’ and ‘The Screens’, and was the sole author of the second part of the book, that deals with Genet’s plays in production. She was therefore responsible for 60% of the book. Since Bradby was unwell from 2010 and regrettably passed away at the beginning of 2011, Finburgh was solely responsible for sourcing all the images as well as bringing the manuscript to the production stage.
The book received the Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award in 2012.
