Removes a long standing industrial restriction on performing preliminary design trade studies to consider laser beam welding. Collaboration with an international material supplier has supported rigorous validation (with novel material and process combinations) enabling the industrial partner to directly consider laser beam welding within their preliminary design processes (Christopher Glazebrook, Constellium).
