Additional information

This International collaborative project (Waterloo (ISOP) and IIT Mumbai UKIERI British Council) is the first report of a novel integrated pillars (SU8 and PDMS) approach to surface modifying microfluidic channels which leads to a higher fluid velocities due to optimum geometries which were also predicted using a derived modelling and simulation. This work has led to a proof of concept point of care microfluidic device (£500k NSF-US-Irl and £2m DEL Point of Care Projects) and is the basis of trials at Intelesens (M Caulfield +44 (0)84 5838 6243); Randox (J. Lamont +44 (0) 28 9442 2413) and SiSaF (+44 28 9099 8944)
