Additional information

This paper describes the production of low-cost multiplex test strips with colorimetric and fluorescent ELISA assays from a continuous plastic microcapillary film. It helped securing follow-on funding from BBSRC for pre-commercial development of the technology, and formation of a new spin-off company (Capillary Film Technology). It led to seminar invitations at UCL and Dortmund Technical University, and a project evaluation by Protein Logic Ltd (a Cambridge based biomarker discovery company), and further commercial enquires from head of division scientistics at Alere (largest worldwide diagnostic company; Alan Thomson), Merck Millipore (Christian Hunzinger) and Swiss Precision Diagnostics (Dave Smart).
