Additional information

<19>This paper presents several key design improvements to the Prêt à Voter verifiable voting system, including a novel idea on how to encrypt the ballot form information to enable preferential voting as well as first-past-the-post selections. The approach proposed in this paper is much more flexible and scalable than the original design, while retaining the fundamental requirements of election integrity and ballot secrecy. In terms of scalability and levels of trust this research has had far-reaching consequences, as the proposed solution underpins the secure e-voting system being developed for the State of Victoria, Australia (see impact case study).
