This work initially led to the contribution of a book chapter published by Springer, (New York), Surface engineered surgical tools and medical devices, 2007, with foreword by Sir Harry Kroto, Nobel Laureate. A.A. Ogwu was appointed as a follow up to this and related papers by Elsevier, to review the new edition of the biomaterials focussed monograph titled ‘Emerging nanotechnologies for manufacturing’ summer 2013.
