Additional information

This paper proposes a practical method to design power system stabilizers by use of locally available information and signals in large-scale complex multi-machine power system. The work is supported by a RCUK international collaborative project, Science Bridge Award - Link to China (3 year, £2.3m), for knowledge transfer to power industry in the UK and China. The method has been tested and validated in a real large-scale Chinese power system (Eastern China Power Network). Two patent applications have been submitted in China. Further field tests have been planned and will go ahead after those two patents are granted.
