Additional information

Super-Capacitors (very high-value electronic capacitors) were fabricated as coaxial fibres by a novel deposition process. These fibres have numerous applications in woven (flexible) portable energy storage. This project was supported by EU FP7 funding with fourteen collaborative partners including weaving and textile companies.

Subsequently, long sections of these fibres have been woven into textiles using a semi-automatic loom. A Patent has been filed to protect the novel fibre fabrication process.
