Additional information

This paper was the first attempt to develop an application-controlled handover for Fixed Mobile Convergence consists and Radio over Fibre (RoF). The handover algorithm not only enhanced the network overall performance but also the reliability and reduction of packet drop by up to 50%, which is a very significant achievement for any real time and time sensitive application. This is a continuation of work based on more than 15 years of research on RoF and the first book published on RoF in 2002 by the author of this paper, who chaired an EU White Paper submitted in 2010 ”http://www.networks-etp.eu/fileadmin/user_upload/Publications/SARA/SRA-SAA/WP-RoF_Feb2010_final.pdf”.
