<11>Appeared in special issue of "best papers" from VMCAI'09. Linear temporal logic model checking over 3-valued models is important for software verification and used in software engineering. This new characterization of model checking over such structures shows that at least three implementations of model checkers using generalized model checking were erroneously thought to be complete (as acknowledged by developers of tools [Fischbein et al. ACM TOSEM'12]). This paper clarified their exact power and led to (at least) one implementation of a correct solution to the problem [Benes et al. ATVA'11].
