Additional information
Incorporating the effect of semi-rigid nature of connections in a steel structural framework is of paramount importance. So far limited work has been done to include this in calculating the vibration frequencies which is a pre-requisite for structural designs in dynamic conditions such as earthquake or wind. This article is the first stepping stone in that direction. The work has now been extended to include steel-concrete composite structures, which is a part of the first author's PhD research.
