Additional information

Identifying who is responsible for aviation emissions is one of the first steps in reducing them. To date there has been no political agreement on how emissions can be attributed to nations or sub national administrations; this paper presents a range of methods and suggests one for adoption. The funding for the work came from the North West Development Agency through the Joule Centre. This paper won a best paper award at the European Transport Conference 2008. It was selected by an international judging committee based on criteria including originality of thought and linkage to policy.
