Additional information

This paper presents an analysis of 8 fire tests conducted for the first time on modern bonded post-tensioned floor slabs. The tests showed the structural effect due to different concrete aggregates, duct material, and levels of restraint to thermal expansion. The results are feeding into practical designs and are included in the new design guidance, which was written by Bailey and Khoury, and will be published by the Concrete Centre. There continues to be significant debate surrounding the safety of these systems which will lead to further work building on the research presented by Bailey and Ellobody. (Contribution 60%)
