Additional information
This invited conference paper describes how interferential methods of modern volume phase holography is employed to achieve ultra-realistic imaging for displaying objects in museums. The methodology is able to record and reconstruct the total visible electromagnetic light field scattered from a real-world object or scene with a resolution better than or equal to that of the unaided human eye. The future use of the true colour holographic technique for collaborative work with museums will depend on cost effectiveness and the development of portable recording laboratories.
