Dynamic modelling of CO2 absorption for post combustion capture in coal-fired power plants
This is one the first papers to model the dynamic behaviour of carbon capture plants, validated using data from the largest available pilot plant at the time (University of Texas, Austin). It laid the foundation of ongoing research on CO2 capture and sequestration, (NERC NE/H01392X, £691k, ERPSRC EP/J020184, £581k) including collaboration with E-ON (Robin.Irons@eon-engineering.com). The model has been also adopted in the CCS System Modelling Tool Kit development by PSE Enterprise (Alfredo Ramos A.Ramos@pseenterprise.com) in collaboration with EDF Energy, E-ON, Rolls-Royce and others, funded by the Energy Technology Institute (£3M, contact andrew.green@eti.co.uk).
