Effect of influent nutrient ratios and hydraulic retention time (HRT) on simultaneous phosphorus and nitrogen removal in a two-sludge sequencing batch reactor process
This research was conducted in collaboration with the China State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resources Reuse, Shanghai, co-funded by a China National Natural Science Foundation Scholarship (no. 50608064). The research led to a Chinese patent (201110376927.1, granted) on control of a two sludge denitrifying phosphorus removal process. The energy efficient operating sequences developed in this research were subsequently applied to sequencing batch reactors in package wastewater treatment plants by a UK SME, Enso International (ddaude@enso-international.com, Managing Director).
