Additional information
The understanding derived in this work directly responded to a UK water company need to enhance the link between characterization and treatment of organic matter. As a consequence of the work the technique is now being routinely used as part of water resource and treatment appraisals within UK water companies (Jenny.banks@yorkshirewater.co.uk) and has now been set up as a standard measurement tool within the Scottish Water laboratories (simon.gillespie@scottishwater.co.uk)
