Additional information

This research concerned a novel carbon nanostructure, the nanoscroll. The results showed that the nanoscroll can be used as a new baseline material for carbon dioxide filters with improved efficiency and 10 times higher flux rates compared to the current state of the art (contact Dr Alessio Alexiadis, a.alexiadis@bham.ac.uk). This led to a patent “Gas filter with chamber comprising carbon nanotubes for filtering CO2” (UK Patent 2479257 published 12-6-2013) with application in the automotive industry.
