This paper is the result of the close collaboration with Dr Yanling Tian (Tianjin University) since Dr Tian’s academic visit to Warwick University in 2006. This collaboration has made a good contribution (5 papers published) to the Warwick leading role in stylus surface metrology. Based upon this work, a European funding FP7 MCIIF, SCM4SCF (327446, £320k) has been awarded for a period from June 2013-June 2015.
