The material design described in this paper has been adapted for use by more than 15 research groups worldwide. My analysis demonstrated that the material was of a high quality and had the low defect density required for solar cell applications. This collaboration between the Microelectronics Institute and Solar Energy Institute, both in Madrid, has continued successfully to publish a further 5 papers.
