The Afterlife of Holocaust Memory in Contemporary Literature and Culture:

This proposed double-weighted, 126,000-word monograph stages an extensive trans-disciplinary, international enquiry into the current state of trauma/memory theory, the theory and practice of Holocaust memory across different national cultures (Germany, the US) and different memory-forms (the novel, monument and museum) – and, therefore, the analysis of a considerable body of material – thereby building a complex thesis about vicarious remembrance.
