Performance analysis of Pareto optimal bearings subject to surface error variations

This output introduced a novel concept in the assessment of air bearing performance to account for both manufacturing tolerances and variation in operating conditions. The work was carried out in collaboration with National University of Singapore. The methodology used to assess the sensitivity of air bearings to manufacturing tolerances has since been used by a number of international authors. The more general methodology has impacted for both manufacturing tolerances and variation in operating conditions has been cited by authors working in several other fields.
